Hold FUNC and P6 down while booting up. When powered rotate main knob until it says "CB FRQ". Press and hold the main knob and it'll go into a reset and power up. Probably in EU band. Power down and again hold FUNC and P1 and power up. Select U band and hold down the the main knob. How you need to find the BND function and select that and rotate the main knob for UK. I'd advise checking the initial calibration with a 50ohm dummy load but it did seem to be pre-calibrated and is always on when Tx, flips to Rx meter when in standby and top meter stays as Tx power meter throughout. **Q: Is this unit legal in the uk?** A: Yes, legal in UK and europe as long as correct band is chosen **Q: if i purchased 2 of these, and gave one to someone 8-10 miles away, would we be able to communicate with eachother or would it not pick up a signal ?** A: In CB mode you should be able to transmit to each other.
