Used it to reprogram my rain sensor in my BMW X5, brilliant feature packed, has everything a BMW owner needs!

I have put of buying this type of car scanner for years, I finally opted for this one after a lot of work on my E92. It has most of the functions that you normally need a laptop full of software to do. Works great but takes a bit of trial and error to get to the functions you need but they are all there. For me it was well worth the money just to reset a steering angle sensor and clear some old codes. Only note is the shop to add other software for other manufacturers is in dollars, I probably should have gone for the all in one model.

Could be a very good device were it not for the fact that the user interface is locked down so tight that many important functions cannot be accessed or used in any practical way. It cannot export any diagnostic data or logged data stream files or graphs by any means other than a spirit medium and Ouija board. The Launch UK & Ireland support site totally disowned the device once I gave them the serial number of the device and referred me to China! Don't even think about it.

This had potential to be brilliant, unfortunately the software is trash on it. It keeps crashing, keeps telling me software is corrupt (which takes an age to reupdate) and then the navigation on it is awful. Accidentally exit out of a process and you're right back to the beginning and have to wait 2-4 minutes to get back to where you were. I tried to record the LCM on a BMW Z4 and that failed, even though that was an option on the device. Then I wanted to read live data on a mini cooper S. I just wanted to read the engine temp but the menu is so confusing, that I couldn't find it and gave up. If you want to add other manufacturers to this, you can do that through the store. It costs $75 a year though per manufacturer. Will be returning, and carry on using INPA and ISTA.

Ich kann das Gerät zu 100 % empfehlen, insbesondere weil es kostenlose Lifetime-Updates bietet und eine vollständige bidirektionale Steuerung ermöglicht, womit aktive Befehle an Aktoren und Steuergeräte gesendet werden können. Wenn die Bildschirmgröße von 4 Zoll kein Hindernis darstellt, handelt es sich um ein wirklich professionelles Produkt. Es richtet sich jedoch an Kenner, da das erweiterte Special Function-Menü tiefgreifende Eingriffe erlaubt und Parameter in zahlreichen BMW-Systemen verändern oder überschreiben kann. ​Beim Auslesen und Löschen von Fehlercodes (DTC) scannet die Benutzeroberfläche schnell alle Fahrzeugmodule — vom Motorsteuergerät (DDE) und Getriebe (EGS) bis hin zum zentralen Karosseriemodul (BDC) oder der Klimaanlage (IHKA). Die Datenbank erkennt und übersetzt BMW-spezifische Codes präzise. Schnelle Optionen für "Code Search" und die Berichterstellung per QR-Code erleichtern das Speichern der Daten erheblich. ​Beim 48V-Mild-Hybrid-System ermöglicht Launch das Auslesen von Echtzeitparametern wie dem Ladezustand (SOC) der Zusatzbatterie und der Spannung des Startergenerators. Bei komplexen Serviceroutinen oder dem Freischalten bzw. Sichern des 48V-Hochvoltnetzes kann die Launch-Software jedoch an Grenzen stoßen, wenn das Gateway-Modul des Fahrzeugs den Zugriff ohne eine gesicherte Online-Authentifizierung blockiert. ​In Bezug auf Spezialfunktionen und die laufende Wartung ist das Testgerät äußerst leistungsfähig. Es trägt den Serviceverlauf problemlos in das CBS-System (Condition Based Service) ein, führt Injektoranpassungen, Lenkwinkelsensorkalibrierungen, die erzwungene DPF-Regeneration sowie Entlüftungsprozeduren des Kühlsystems durch. ​Die Haupteinschränkung liegt bei tiefgreifenden Codierungen oder der Neukonfiguration neuer Elektronikmodule. Obwohl es Komfortcodierungen (Offline / Variant Coding) erlaubt, kann Launch die herstellereigene Software BMW ISTA+ nicht vollständig ersetzen, wenn Steuergeräte neu programmiert werden müssen, die durch die neuesten BMW-Sicherheitsprotokolle geschützt sind. Für die schnelle Diagnose, das Erkennen von Sensorproblemen, Live-Parameter und die reguläre Wartung an einem 3.0-Liter-Diesel aus dem Jahr 2022 bleibt es jedoch ein kompaktes, schnelles und extrem praktisches Werkzeug.
