At the beginning of the instructions is a graphic of what not to do: put this together without using the instructions, followed by a graphic of what to do: use the instructions when putting together the island. The manufacturer's confidence in their instructions is well deserved. There are lots of screws, dowels, and boards. The structural framework is made of very strong compressed wood with the top being real hardwood. The product description says it capable of 250 lbs capacity (competitors versions at this price level is 100 lbs). The drawers are also well designed riding on metal bars and rollers for a good in-out experience. This is way better than what you normally get at the price lever of this item.
