Can I use this for handstand training?

Yes you can sturdy and durable!!

Does these stay well on hardwood floor?

I have found they can slip on a bare concrete floor, so I would say they might slip on a hardwood floor as well. That's really the only problem I have found with them, though. I put down a cheap area rug and solved the issue easily.

I’m looking for a better alternative to palms on the floor when I do mountain climbers (alternate knees to chest & repeat). Will these do the trick?

Yes! This is the reason why I purchased them. They also help with push ups!
