Samsung SmartTag2

June 2025-Just got this tag for my 9lb cat, Loki. So far it's perfect. I did have a little trouble setting it up bc I had no idea what I was doing but I youtubed it & got it set up. I can not tell you how happy I am with my purchase so far. Loki is 1 of 3 cats, she is the youngest & the only escape artist. I have tried "cat proofing" my fence but she finds the points which I'm trying to fix. In the meantime, she has a pink collar with reflective strip & a bell. She now also has this tracker. Even when she doesn't escape, I sometimes can't find her at night bc she's dark gray & small so she can hide under plants or objects 😅 i also LOVE that you can play a tune to help find the item. Right now I'm so happy with this purchase. 6/7/25 this is great for finding something however I had to purchase Tractive for my escape artist, Loki. She jumps the fence & I need exact GPS location & instant notification that she's left the safe zone. Tractive covers that. SmartTag 2 still helps bc sometimes it's hard to find Loki in the yard, especially at night. 6/16/25 I've definitely decided to keep both the tractive tracker & the smarttag2 on Loki's collar. My 3 cats are allowed in the backyard & the older 2 stay in the backyard; have only left once or twice (my male left twice) then never again. Loki is dark gray & small. We have lots of plants that she can hide under & at night it's really difficult to find her. Thats where the Smarttag2 comes in very handy! Tractive tells me she's in the safe zone but the smarttag helps me locate her. Both help me a lot. Happy with both purchases. Update Aug 30, 25- it won't connect no matter what i do. I've tried factory reset as well. 3 months for $20 not worth it. Battery is still good. Will try a few more times & will update. Sept 9, 25- RESTART YOUR PHONE IF ITS PAIRING BUT NOT CONNECTING. Fixed all the problems 😅

After losing my keys at a Target going crazy looking for it I said no I need something to find my keys next time and I'm so glad I bought this. It makes finding things so easy it's easy to use and easy to pair it with your phone. and whenever you need to find your keys you can beap them and they sound loud you can't miss it you'll find your keys.

Great gps tag. Works as it should. However I would not buy this again. You have to use the samsung smarthings app to track it. Look for gps tags that are universal for android phones. This only works with samsung. That means that the network is limited. If you want to track your dog, for example, and there is no one with a samsung phone nearby to connect to it then it will not give you an accurate reading. When I say universal, i mean to get a tag that works with all android phones so it can be tracked regardless of andorid phone maker. this will increase your chances of the tag connecting to a network and being tracked.

There's nothing more frustrating than spending twenty minutes searching for your keys when you're already running late. This SmartTag2 has completely eliminated that problem for me. It's a simple device that does exactly what it's supposed to do, and it does it really well. The tracking accuracy is impressive. When you use the app to find your tagged item, it gives you directions and shows how far away you are. As you get closer, the signal gets stronger, and you can trigger the SmartTag to make a sound. The sound is loud enough to hear even if your keys are buried in a couch cushion or under some papers. The whole process of locating something takes seconds instead of minutes. Setup was incredibly easy. You just open the SmartTag in the app, press the button, and it pairs with your phone automatically. The whole process takes maybe thirty seconds. Once it's connected, it shows up in your SmartThings app alongside any other Samsung devices you have. The interface is clean and intuitive – you can see all your tags at once and tap any of them to start tracking. Battery life is excellent. These run on standard replaceable batteries that last for months. When the battery gets low, the app notifies you, so you're never caught off guard. Being able to replace the battery yourself rather than having to buy a whole new tracker is both economical and environmentally friendly. The battery compartment is easy to access, and swapping in a new battery takes just a moment. The build quality feels solid. It's compact and lightweight, but it doesn't feel fragile or cheap. The button on the front has a good tactile response, and the whole unit feels like it can handle being on a keychain and getting jostled around daily. It's got some weather resistance too, so you don't have to worry about it getting caught in the rain. The range on the Bluetooth connection is better than I expected. You can locate items from a decent distance away, and the connection stays stable. If you do go out of range, the app shows you the last known location on a map, which is incredibly helpful if you left something at a friend's house or in your car. One of the coolest features is the lost mode. If you can't find your item and you're not near it, you can mark it as lost in the app. Then, if any other Samsung device comes near your SmartTag, you'll get an anonymous notification with its location. Given how many Samsung phones are out there, this network effect makes it much more likely you'll recover lost items. You can also use the SmartTag to find your phone. Just double-press the button on the tag, and your phone will ring even if it's on silent. This has saved me countless times when I've misplaced my phone somewhere in the house. It's a simple feature, but it works perfectly and gets used all the time. The attachment options are practical. It's got a hole for a keyring that's sized right – not so big that it looks awkward, but large enough to fit standard keyrings and attachments easily. The tag sits flat on a keychain without adding a lot of bulk. You barely notice it's there until you need it. Integration with Samsung's ecosystem is seamless. If you've already got Samsung devices, this just works with everything you have. The SmartThings app becomes your central hub for finding all your stuff. You can even set up automation with other smart home devices if you want to get creative. The precision finding works really well when you're close to your item. The app switches to a more detailed view that shows you the direction and distance, helping you zero in on exactly where something is. It's like a metal detector for your keys, and it makes finding things quick and frustration-free. For the price, this is an outstanding value. You're getting reliable tracking technology that actually works consistently. When you consider how much time it saves and how much peace of mind it provides, it's easily worth the investment. Losing important items is stressful, and this completely eliminates that stress. If you're someone who frequently misplaces things or just wants the security of being able to track important items, the SmartTag2 is a must-have. It's reliable, easy to use, and it genuinely solves the problem it's designed to address. I can't imagine going back to not having these on my important items.

The Samsung Galaxy SmartTag2 is a great product and has been very useful. It’s compact, easy to set up, and gives me peace of mind knowing I can keep track of my belongings. The tracking features work well, and the battery life is a major plus. The design is also small enough to attach to keys, bags, luggage, or other important items without being bulky. Overall, I’m very happy with the SmartTag2. It’s reliable, convenient, and a great accessory for Samsung Galaxy users. Definitely worth having if you want an easy way to keep track of your belongings.

Works very well. Helpful in locating items and works with samsung smartphones. Easy to use

I bought a handful of tags to track keys, and potentially luggage and animals during an upcoming trip. I got the tags set up on my SmartThings, and I can see them all at my address, but as soon as one leaves without me... ? It's basically gone. I can't see where it is, unless by some miracle it decides to update. All the app says is "Not near you." Very helpful. (I just waited 4 hours for a tag's location to update. Surely, it must have encountered the "Galaxy network" at least once on a 4 hr roadtrip.) I figured this had to be user error, so I consulted ChatGPT for a little tutorial. Every time ChatGPT says "tap this" or "tap that," I don't ever see that option. ChatGPT replies "Oh, sometimes its in a different spot." Why? Why are the apps and set up processes so different for a limited and specific group of users? I also thought I'd be able to share the tag's location with family, but Im just learning that isn't a thing either. It says you can invite "members" and they can view and control the tag as long as they've also downloaded the app and have their location on. I thought I would be able to use this as a panic button of sorts and it would send family my location, but it doesn't do that. The best you can do is set it up to send someone a text to open their app and navigate to the right tab and view your location, but even after all those hoops were jumped, it remains to be seen. ChatGPT confirms its really just for one owner to track items should very specific criteria be met, like the tag cannot be in a piece of luggage (there goes that selling point) or in a glovebox or backpack. It seems the best way to get an update is to have the person who took the tag press the button. But, what if my keys or bag were stolen? I have to ask the thief to press the button? I was going to put these on my dogs while I'm out of town, but I'm pretty certain they won't be pressing any buttons to let me know where they are. The SmartThings app is probably the least intuitive app I've ever downloaded. It should come with instructions or a tutorial or something. But I figure if me AND ChatGPT can't figure it out then it must be pretty bad. And you can't use the trackers without the app, so... If you want to make confirm your keys, dog, car, etc., are in your house with you, then this is the tracker for you! If you are looking for something more robust and trackable outside your home or arms reach, then... well, I don't know. Get an iPhone and an air tag, I guess. I may have gotten these tags with too high of expectations, but these are getting 3 stars. The app is so poorly designed, the tag is really larger than it needs to be (50% is a ring that you can't clip anything to; yes, you need by a silicone cover and carabiner ring), and the network appears to not be very dense and therefore the tag not reliably trackable. It does seems to have a lot of functionality for working with other smart devices, but I don't need a remote to turn on my bathroom lights. If you do, or you just want to find your lost keys nearby, then this is an inexpensive gadget, if you're able to get a tag on sale. I'll update if I'm able to make the tag more useful and/or discover user error. If the app improves at all, that would be stellar. UPDATE: • I was told there was no way to add more than one pet profile to the Pet Care feature, but I've discovered this is not correct. You can add multiple pet profiles and then register each profile to their dedicated tracker. Just press the button twice and you can start and stop tracking a walk. Wanted to log walks to apply to an AKC Fit title and now I can! • The ringer on the tracker is also kind of quiet. I lost my keys under a sweatshirt and it was nearly unable to be heard. The noise was so soft, at first I couldn't hear it at all while in the same room. Once I was within a foot or two, I could hear a faint noise. • Also, I've had one of the trackers activated for about 1.5 months and the battery says its at 46%. I guess I'll need to change the battery 3x a year or so on all of these?

No exige atención constante.

The battery on them lasts a fair bit. I like their key hole compared to the older models. A must own item for travelling. Tip 💡 I put them inside our luggage 🛅 in case theyre misplaced to find them quickly. When i get to my destination i put it in the rental car and attach another to its key 🗝.
