Ideal for positive reinforcement training, it offers durable control with a lifetime warranty and a 90-day satisfaction guarantee, making it a trusted tool for effective dog management at home. ## Description POSITIVE REINFORCEMENT: Tethers get your dog out of his crate and with you while still under control as she learns how to behave! A dog tether is not a punishment. It is a training tool for safety and management in the home. When tethering is used with positive reinforcement, it can be very effective in the success of your dog training program. 4 FEET OR 6 FEET, WHICH TO GET? It depends on where you plan to tether your pup and how much you want them to roam. Can they get tangled around something nearby? Does she need more length to see you or less length to keep her from wandering? It's up to you. GOOD AND BAD TETHERING OPTIONS: Generally, it should be sturdy, durable, and stationary without anything nearby to get tangled in. The foot of a bed or table (if they can't get scratched) are good. Lamps and chairs can fall over, so they're bad. If you need to get creative, a roll of duct tape, packing tape, or toilet paper on one side of a closed door with the tether going underneath works well. SUPERVISION HIGHLY RECOMMENDED: A short tether used as a tie out can be scary and even dangerous for a dog without supervision. ## Features - PREVENT CHEWING - Made with heavy duty vinyl coated wire rope, like a tie-out but lighter and more flexible - CRATE TRAINING ALTERNATIVE: Easier, smaller, and less than half the price of crates or xpens / playpens / indoor exercise pens - SIZING: Suitable for dogs small to extra large. Not suitable for toy breeds (less than 12 pounds) - 90 DAY SATISFACTION GUARANTEE - Your purchase is protected by our 90 day total satisfaction guarantee. Also our lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects in workmanship or materials for the life of the product ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Asin | B075Y5WZQJ | | Best Sellers Rank | #42 in Dog Tie-Outs & Stakes | | Date First Available | June 16, 2017 | | Item Model Number | 12.99 | | Manufacturer | Dog-Proof Gear | | Package Dimensions | 5.87 x 5.75 x 0.75 inches; 4.16 ounces | ## Images ![Training Tie Down - Short Tether for Dogs & Teething Puppies (4 feet) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61+HLnUbGIL.jpg) ![Training Tie Down - Short Tether for Dogs & Teething Puppies (4 feet) - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61O4pJyuydL.jpg) ![Training Tie Down - Short Tether for Dogs & Teething Puppies (4 feet) - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51bQaSdfQeL.jpg) ![Training Tie Down - Short Tether for Dogs & Teething Puppies (4 feet) - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71FEZavHqpL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Well Constructed *by on Reviewed in the United States June 7, 2023* This tether is the perfect weight and length for use as an indoor furniture tether. It has a loop at one end with the crimp completely encased in rubber so there is nothing to rub on the leg of my table. It's quieter than a tether with a snap on both ends. I use the double snap tethers but much prefer the loop for furniture. If I were to need a snap at both ends I could easily add one. Very well made. I would buy this product again. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Excellent Equipment *by on Reviewed in the United States May 7, 2020* A bit pricey BUT work so well. This the 2nd one I've purchased. I am a foster home for an animal rescue group and work part time at a doggie day care. I use them as a drop lead for new dogs that are shy and/or fearful. These leads are very light weight, very durable and easy to clean. They allow you to easily & safely interact with the pups . They really help minimize the stress they are experiencing from being in an unfamiliar situation and new place ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great tether for training *by on Reviewed in the United States September 3, 2026* Your dog cant chew this up! We tethered our puppy indoors and outdoors to help with training and regulating emotions, after chewing through three leashes we got this and it works perfect. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.no/products/56773973-training-tie-down-short-tether-for-dogs-and-teething-puppies](https://www.desertcart.no/products/56773973-training-tie-down-short-tether-for-dogs-and-teething-puppies) --- *Product available on Desertcart Norway* *Store origin: NO* *Last updated: 2026-10-12*
