Since the 2 batteries are 12vdc wired in parallel, this is possibly simply by soldering wires to either (+) and (-) of the battery terminals. Only need to drill a small hole in the back mounting base in order to pass the wire through. This works way better than having a battery in there that not only needs periodic replacing, if you dont replace it often enough, it will corrode and eat away the battery terminals.
