Also, the illustrations on each page motivate young readers, especially visual learners like my daughter. The narrative is fast-paced and exciting, and it points out things I'd never considered about the space race. My 5-year-old loves this. I was glad the book didn't go into detail on the tragedy of Apollo 1 or I would have been answering a lot of questions from my son. This author did a fantastic job highlighting the dangers of space travel and capturing the awe-inspiring spirit of everyone watching these men land on the moon.
