Hikari claims the algae disk is made just for plecos; however, the wafer is ideal for any bottom feeder or even fish. Some important things to note are; the Algae Wafers will not cloud water or is dissolvable by water. The size of the Algae wafers is dime-sized. Do not freeze these wafters, instead, simply place the wafers in an airtight container or put them inside a ziplock bag to keep them fresh. If they become stale, the fish will no longer eat the product and it also compromises the ingredients and vitamins.
