Description
Tricky returns with his 13th album, Ununiform, out in September on his own label False Idols via !K7 Music. It’s a delicate, storming, intricate album that sees Tricky take perhaps his most radical step yet – a journey into happiness and contentment. It’s a record that shows the legendary British producer confront his legacy, history, family – even death itself. And in all of this, he finds the strangest, least familiar thing – peace.

As innovative and eclectic as ever.
I have loved Maxinequaye and Pre-Millenium Tension for years, after first being introduced to Tricky via the marvellous Massive Attack in 1991. I also had Tricky Meets South Rakaks Crew album (its a remix album of sorts) and Vulnerable. It wasn't until I bought Ununiform that I realised and came to appreciate just how innovative and eclectic Tricky is. He is a true renaissance man and this album brings out the best in him and his collaborators. Since buying this album I have gone back to reappraise Tricky's back catalogue and I am now the proud owner of Blowback, Nearly God, Knowle West Boy, Adrian Thaws and the AMAZING False Idols. So to the one person who gave this one star; have some patience. He's not Kylie (although he does a remarkable cover of Slow, by her. So perhaps you should try that.)
