The front cover is misleading, making it look like it would be a book for a younger child, but the info inside is quite technical, and very useful for teens studying geography or weather topics. Not many pages, but each page is fun, with things to turn and pull, and snippets of learning. Plenty of pictures. There are pages on cyclones, clouds and weather from years gone by and how it has changed, global warming and other bits. It will be a useful book for many years to come, and passed on through the family. While you still get the beautifully illustrated pages, with lots of interactive flaps and pop ups, the information is very detailed. That's not to say that younger children won't appreciate it; my five year old adores this book. But the subjects included are certainly not aimed at his age group. It is a fabulous book to have though. I flicked through it one evening and learnt about how they predict the weather. I showed it to my Dad when they came up to stay and he had a lovely time reading it too! BUT the fact that it has pull-out flaps and you can dip in to bits of information makes it something that she picks up and reads a little of, so I think it will be a book that she grows into.
