A: no it's water base

**Q: Does this give the icing  bitter flavor?**
A: I have used this product for several years, in many different colors, and no there is no flavor associated with it. It’s much better than anything you can buy at the grocery store.

**Q: Is the color oven-stable, like for macaron shells?**
A: Yes

**Q: can I use to color char siu?**
A: Yeah I don’t see why not, it may be more red than pink though.
