This heartwarming and colorful tale will delight young hearts and help them understand how families of all types reflect God’s unconditional love—part of the bestselling God Gave Us series, with more than 5 million books sold! Little Pup’s wolf family is on their way to a special reunion—with lots of cousins, games, roasting marshmallows, and fun! As the young wolf thinks about different kinds of families, it’s the perfect opportunity for Mama and Papa to teach their inquisitive child about the families that God brings together. Some families are big and others are small, some are led by grandparents or just one parent, and some families include adopted little ones– yet each family is truly special. Even the members of Little Pup’s pack make up an important role in his family, although they sometimes pester him. Papa gently reminds his son… “We need to love the family God gave us.” Review: Great for adopted kiddos too! - Our son is adopted, and this was a beautiful way to explain different types of families! Great book about different families
Lisa Tawn Bergren has written a nice book about the different types of families. From the viewpoint of a wolf family, Little Pup wants to know why they only have one child. Mama and Papa explain that it is the family that God has given them up to this point and may be the only child they have. It is pointed out how others have a lot more in their family but that is what God has given them. It is also mentioned that some parents choose to adopt, and some children are raised by grandparents. And it is also talked about how we are part of a bigger family, like a pack or cousins. I personally related it to include a church family. Sweet story for children to hear or read with lovely illustrations by David Holn.

This book is a beautiful and heartwarming story that teaches children the importance of family in all its forms. The illustrations are absolutely adorable, and the message is both uplifting and reassuring, reminding kids that families may look different but are all created in love. It’s a wonderful book to read together, sparking meaningful conversations about belonging and appreciation for the people in our lives.

Lovely story
I love the God Gave Us series and growing my collection! This is the first book we have that isn’t the polar bear family. Enjoyed the story and loved how similar the flow is to the other books. This story is about families and how some families are different than others. I loved how it included adoption, how some families have more children than others and even how family isn’t just the family who is related to us.
