I was looking for something much quicker. This sharpener is a good interim fix and gets me to a usable blade, but falls short.Pros:Easy to use. Does a decent job. Reasonably quiet. Time saver. Good design. Reasonable price. Small and easy to store.I do like the magnetic traps for ground off metal.Cons:To make this an excellent sharpener, it needs one more (finer) grinding wheel. As is, It has two grinding wheels and a fixed ceramic (that the instructions say is only for serrated knives).It will not sharpen scissors.Comments:The mfg description says it is a 3 stage sharpener. I only count 2 stages plus a fixed auxiliary ceramic.If you want a sharper blade than this machine can deliver, use this machine first to rough it out and then go manual; to a fine sharpening whetstone and oil. But this defeats the purpose for which I bought it: To save the time needed to use the whetstone.This machine gets you to only 80% of the sharpness I was hoping for.So, this is an okay sharpener but not what I thought I was buying.
