As we join the Doctor in this eighth series, we find his relationship with his wife Louisa back on a more even keel, although juggling their jobs with baby care is proving more challenging daily. Meanwhile Bert and Al Large face challenges of their own, with brewing whisky and running a B&B not quite turning out as they had hoped; Mrs Tishell suffers a terrible and unexpected setback in her life; and Penhale, already facing romantic challenges, faces a mini crime spree and decides to host a Police Open Day. Newcomers to the village include a new curate as well as Morwenna’s parents, Jack and Tara who worked as missionaries in Kenya; and the village sees the return of Beth, the American tourist and veterinarian Angela Sim. And swimming through the maelstrom of it all is Doctor Ellingham, suffering humanity’s foibles with little tolerance and suffering literally with a newly adopted dog, against his better judgment, underfoot Review: Pure Quality - Perfectly pitched; the on again off again had been played out (in style), but the direction of the show is altered here and altered for the better. Top quality entertainment as usual. Review: Great Series and scenery - I have watched the series from the beginning and love the scenery so much so we spent a weeks holiday in Port Isaac! A series that is always good, if a little bit exaggerated in life plots, but nevertheless entertaining. If only all GP's were like that. I would put up with the rudeness to know that I was being able to see a GP face to face ,a rarity in these days and actually taken seriously with a proper diagnosis. The addition of his children is a great and the little boy is so cute, what a great little actor. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Contributor | Art Malik, Caroline Catz, Caroline Quentin, Craig Ferguson, Dominic Minghella, Eileen Atkins, Ian McNeice, Joe Absolom, John Marquez, Mark Crowdy, Martin Clunes, Sigourney Weaver Contributor Art Malik, Caroline Catz, Caroline Quentin, Craig Ferguson, Dominic Minghella, Eileen Atkins, Ian McNeice, Joe Absolom, John Marquez, Mark Crowdy, Martin Clunes, Sigourney Weaver See more | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 732 Reviews | | Format | PAL | | Genre | Drama | | Global Trade Identification Number | 05036193034077 | | Language | English | | Manufacturer | Acorn Media UK | | Number of discs | 2 | | Publication date | 13 Nov. 2017 | | Runtime | 6 hours | ## Images ![Doc Martin: Complete Series Eight - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/71gq9+ozxaL.jpg) ![Doc Martin: Complete Series Eight - Image 2](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/A1EGDdxoCnL.jpg) ![Doc Martin: Complete Series Eight - Image 3](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/A1IEwEr5niL.jpg) ![Doc Martin: Complete Series Eight - Image 4](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/9126NiXYhYL.jpg) ![Doc Martin: Complete Series Eight - Image 5](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91J6azBHnoL.jpg) ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Pure Quality *by G***E on 25 July 2025* Perfectly pitched; the on again off again had been played out (in style), but the direction of the show is altered here and altered for the better.
