It is pricey for a plastic ring with some screen on it. I added foam at the outside vent as a pre filter "Duck Brand 1285234 Replacement Air Conditioner Foam Filter, 24-Inch x 15-Inch x 1/4-Inch, 1-Pack"($2.66 cdn). Used scissors and cut out a piece to fit the outdoor vent.
