I had been looking for some quality shutoff valves for our garden hoses. I had used cheap, plastic ones in the past that lasted about one year before they began to leak. These valves are built to last, in solid brass. The ball valves work very smoothly and the handles are large enough to operate very easily. They are not as cheap as the plastic ones but, it is worth spending a little more to get a quality product. Each valve comes with a spare washer for future use. I would buy these again, although I don't think I will need any in the near future.

These shut-off valves are priceless! They are easy to use and simple to install. You can use them with or without an attachment. Saves time and energy when using on hose which is far from the hose bib, no running back and forth to turn off water. There is no leakage when used with the provided o-rings. They don't break if the hose slips out of your hand and hits the pavement. You can also use these to connect two lengths of hoses together.

The shutoff valves are exactly what I was expecting and matched the description given on Amazon. I like bronze because it’s so durable and will not crack from just sun exposure or too much force when connecting to other parts; plus you can’t beat the price for that level of quality!

I do like this is brass and my quick connects don't have an automatic stop. These help stop the flow without having to turn off the water

I was skeptical that this valve was solid brass due to the flat/matte finish so I polished the inside of the male end with a Dremel tool in order to investigate and prove that it was not plated. As the picture clearly indicates, the interior surface polished to a bright shine. The valve body and coupling is made of high quality brass and should last for years. I have an older version of this valve that is at least 30 years old and still fully functional. No plastic external parts to break or deteriorate with age. This valve is highly recommended.

These are solid brass and very sturdy. I added just a little bit of Plumbers Grease to the ball valve inside and just a little oil on the valve handle outside and they should easily last 50 years.
