I've been buying this yogurt starter fur years and years. It's super good, makes a great tart yogurt in my instant pot. I strain for 12-24 hours and end up with a thick tart yogurt that i use instead of sour cream and mayonnaise. I do the 24 hour so it has less lactose and is easier on my stomach.

I go through more of these than is absolutely necessary, since a firm texture every time is what I want. I mix 2 2/3 cups of dry nonfat milk with slightly warm water in a half-gallon container, add two envelopes of starter, stir, pour this into the yogurt maker (I use the one with two bowls) and set it on 112 degrees for 12 hours, and it's done. It's usually quite firm before the entire time is up, but there's no hurry about getting it out of the machine. Yogurt goes into the fridge overnight and is ready to eat for breakfast. Cheapest big box nonfat dry milk works fine for this, tastes great. Couldn't be easier.

I’ve purchased this yogurt starter three or four times already, and it’s been consistently reliable. The yogurt turns out smooth and tasty every time, and the instructions are easy to follow. With grocery prices going up so much these days, making yogurt at home is absolutely worth it. One packet can make a good amount, and the cost savings really add up. Plus, it’s nice knowing exactly what goes into the yogurt—no additives, just simple ingredients. If you enjoy homemade yogurt and want a cost-effective option, this starter is a great choice. I’ll definitely keep buying it.

I have used these in the past and found them to be very reliable. When I decided to start making yogurt again I had purchased another brand--one that was suppose to be the greatest--and had it on hand. A fail. Ordered Yogourmet and waited for it to come. First batch was great, second batch no problems. I will continue to use this product. Oh, I will add that I only use whole milk.

Great and consistent yogurt every time.

This is a good yogurt in that it does the job, however, I am not a fan of the flavor. I normally make my yogurt using Fage plain Greek yogurt as my starter, and it produces a very smooth and natural yogurt flavor. (I do go the full 24 hours to ferment) This one has a slight tangy but way appears to be a “lemony” kind of flavor to it. If that’s your cup of tea then more power to you, but it’s not the flavor I was looking for. I will try their green packaged ones next (probiotic) and see if there’s a difference in flavor. It is convenient to have dried yogurt on hand for longer term storage, so that’s a plus, I’m just not a fan of the flavor.

The kefir worked a treat. I used full cream UHT milk, left on the benchtop for 24hrs. Light effervescence with a mild tang.

Amazing.

Worked great my first try and tastes awesome! This is going to save me a lot of money because I eat a lot of yogurt.
