This edition includes extensive translator notes that enrich the reading experience by explaining cultural nuances and car references. Praised for its high-quality printing, including glossy color pages and distortion-free double spreads, it captures the iconic story of Takumi Fujiwara’s rise from tofu delivery driver to street racing legend, making it a definitive collector’s item for manga and JDM enthusiasts alike. ## Description Remember me? Relive Takumi Fujiwara's journey from tofu delivery boy to street-racing legend in an all-new, large-sized, 2-in-1 print edition of the series that made Japanese street racing into a worldwide phenomenon. Contains a new translation of Initial D Vol. 1-2. Takumi Fujiwara spends a lot of time behind the wheel. His tofu delivery job sends him racing down the treacherous roads of Mount Akina, and without even realizing it, Takumi has mastered racing techniques that take most drivers a lifetime to learn. Of course, none of his friends realize this. They're all too busy watching the Akina Speed Stars, the local street racing team. When the legendary Red Suns show up to challenge the Speed Stars, the rival team obsesses over a phantom car, the Trueno Eight-Six, seen racing through the mountain roads. Who is the driver, and will they take on the dangerous challenge? This edition is still running in the '90s but features a refreshed translation and lettering for the 2020s, as well as a special large size. Review: Amazing. - A top quality book, initial D is amazing and I wish I had an AE86... Review: Great Quality Book! - Great care has been taken with this publishing. The book is a nice size with a good feeling cover. The page quality is good and the double spreads have a gutter down the middle to avoid distortion of the image, happens with some other publishers. The translators notes pages are very extensive, covering honorifics to slang to simply filling in the less car knowledgeable information about the cars and brand names seen. There are some glossy colour pages at the front of the book. All this provides the best possible way to read this new revised English translation of Initial D. Of course the content of Initial D itself is excellent. The nostalgic vibes of the setting, young characters and classic JDM cars is perfect. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in any of that. Overall very happy. ## Features - New Store Stock ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | Best Sellers Rank | 104,042 in Books ( See Top 100 in Books ) 1,493 in Manga (Books) 1,585 in Super-Hero Graphic Novels 22,374 in Teen & Young Adult (Books) | | Customer Reviews | 4.8 out of 5 stars 414 Reviews | ## Images ![Initial D Omnibus 1 (Vol. 1-2) - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91UQOxHR3aL.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Media Language, Media Format** options. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Amazing. *by R***G on 26 September 2025* A top quality book, initial D is amazing and I wish I had an AE86... ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great Quality Book! *by G***G on 21 July 2024* Great care has been taken with this publishing.
