## Description

Product Description 3M Glass Polishing Compound, 60150 From the Manufacturer Easy to UsePolishing marring and fine scratches out of glass surfaces is a slow and difficult process, but using 3M Glass Polishing Compound can make the job a little bit easier. When used with a dual action or rotary machine polisher, it not only cuts well, but also breaks down quickly to leave a high clarity finish that requires no further refinement. This makes the compound easy to use and requires almost no clean-up.Simple Ingredients for a Great Finish3M Glass Polishing Compound comprises a precision-milled cerium oxide-based micro-abrasive paste that permanently removes defects such as swirl marks, fine scratches and water spots from exterior glass surfaces. The use of cerium-oxide offers distinct advantages in terms of finish quality and work time and avoids the use of wax or silicone chemicals that can be less user friendly. It also contains no chemical cleaners, fillers or glazing oils, which makes it great for both casual and professional users. High Efficiency CompoundThis high-efficiency compound requires only 2-4 drops for every square foot of glass surface area, and requires little or no cleanup. The 3M Glass Polishing Compound gives you a professional looking finish without the need for professional level expertise.

Review: Far better than anything else I have tried - I have a number of vintage cars from the early 1950's and one, a 1952 Arnolt MG has all original glass. With only 63 Coupes built sourcing new glass is impossible while having the glass custom made in extremely expensive. The car recently completed a concours level restoration and the glass, especially the windshield greatly detracted from the appearance. I considered having a windshield made but removing the old one is not an easy task due to the archaic way in which it is mounted requiring the headliner to be removed and stainless steel trim. I tried to polish the glass using a number of glass polishes include that from Griot's garage which received great reviews. After using an entire bottle of glass polish the only effect was that it removed the haziness but had little impact on the fine scratches and shallow chips. It took well over an hour to do so. I just tested the 3M product on a small section of the windshield and after 10 minutes it looks virtually new. All of the fine scratches are gone and the polishing even removed most of the deep scratches along the trim which where caused by wet sanding the aluminum trim. I am sure after a second pass they too will be gone. A word of caution, this is a product for "professionals" hence no instructions which s the case for all 3M's line of professional polishes. (By the way, their line of "perfect-it" products for paint surfaces are outstanding.). When polishing glass it is important to keep the surface wet using a spray bottle with water to mist the surface or the polishing pad. If you use a high torque buffing wheel and do not do this, the heat generated can crack the glass. WIth this product there is no need for a high torque wheel as a standard dual action buffer wit the right pad works fine but will take a bit more time.
Review: Restored 20yr old boat windshield - Used on a windshield for a boat that is 20yrs old and was parked in the sun on salt water the entire time. Glass was micro pitted and looked like it had permanent water stains but it was etched from the years of elements and could not be cleaned. Glass was clear and not yellowed and was still good enough to see through for day time driving, but night was an issue. Tested in a small area to make sure there wouldn't be any strange hazing or light diffusion and it looked perfect. So I polished the entire glass and results were amazing, but not perfect. I did another pass and took more time and now the surface looks nearly perfect. Surface is almost like new. Only problem now is I can clearly see all the staining on the inside of the windshield which is not easy to get to with a polisher. So I'll be testing that by hand next hoping for perfect glass on both sides.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Did this remove light acid etching to the doors you were installing, or marks to already etched glass?**
A: The product did not work for us. A painter had scratched the glass of french doors while preparing to paint them. It may have removed the scratch somewhat, but left a blurry window. We ended up replacing the glass

**Q: Has anyone used this product to remove scratches on ceramiglass cooktops and if so have you had positive results?**
A: I used this on automobile windshields to remove scratches from a broken windshield wiper and for glass in a car wash walkway that was chemically etched. I used a buffer to polish the glass. It is abrasive and if there is an etched or coated pattern on your cook top it will erase it.

**Q: Will this work on gorilla glass?**
A: Worked great on my iPhone

**Q: how does this compare to CarPro ceriglass glass polish?**
A: Hi Peter
I've never used the product you mentioned so not able to compare the two. The 3m product has never let me down.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Worked for me
*by D***L on February 22, 2026*

Bought this hoping it would remove vertical streaking on a car windshield. I tried a razor blade and clay bar, neither did anything. The lines were especially visible during rain. I thought the glass had been etched. Tried this on passenger side of windshield and it removed the vertical lines. See photo during foggy morning. This stuff is sticky and doesn’t just spray off, so be careful with spatter. I ran my car through a car wash afterwards and still had to hand wash. Next, I plan on masking car to avoid the mess. Dinged it a star due to high price
