## Questions & Answers

**Q: The mic won't work. Is there any trick to make this going?**
A: Odly enough I had an issue with one of my Xbox controllers where the sound and mic didn’t work, but when I plugged it into my other controller everything worked perfectly fine. Maybe it might be a controller issue!

**Q: Does it require any software to have DTS surround sound? Or is DTS surround sound built-in the headset?**
A: I'm not aware of it requiring any software but I am on ps5 so not available for me if needed. The 2's provided a much better sound profile in my opinion.

**Q: Does this headset have mic monitoring right out of the box so I can use it with my Xbox series x, or is that feature only available on PC?**
A: No, has to be turned on in windows control panel. In general I can hear surroundings pretty well including my own voice depending how loud I set the volume.

**Q: Does DTS spatial audio work using 3.5 mm aux input?**
A: I think so, but to be sure contact Hyper X store just to make sure

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ One of the best headsets I’ve used
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 8 August 2026*

Honestly, the HyperX Cloud III has been one of the best headsets I’ve used so far and I bought one for myself and my brother, and we’ve both had a really good experience with them. Even the packaging feels pretty luxury compared to a lot of other headsets, which was a nice first impression, thought they are a bit expensive, but the comfort is probably the biggest reason I’d recommend them. I’ve used them for long periods and they fit my head really well, with a tight and sealed feel that blocks out a lot of outside noise. The sound quality is really good, and from what I’ve heard the mic quality is good too and the software is also really simple and easy to use, especially if you’re someone who just wants to plug it in and use it without messing around with loads of settings. If you’re using a console, software isn’t really something to worry about anyway. I also like the connectivity part that you can use USB-C, USB-A and the 3.5mm headphone jack, which makes it pretty versatile. The only thing I wish they had was replaceable ear cushions like the Cloud II, because that would make this headset pretty much perfect and probably push it past a 5/5 for me but so far it’s been durable, comfortable and completely reliable with no issues. If it continues lasting as long as I expect it to, I’d say it’s definitely worth the money and a 4.8/5 ⭐

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for Gaming - A great value, quality product. Very happy.
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 27 January 2026*

As a former semi-pro FPS player, and having had gaming as my primary hobby for 40 years, I am really impressed with this headset. It is very, very comfortable and can be worn for long hours without any discomfort. I wear glasses, and often headsets press them into your head and after a while it hurts. This one doesn't do that, it is very comfortable even while wearing glasses.Secondly it looks and feels like a quality product, the brushed aluminium extenders really feel like a good design decision and add to the feel of luxury. The microphone is excellent quality, good enough for online karaoke - and very clear on Discord, WhatsApp, and in game.Sound quality is absolutely perfect for games. You can easily hear where your enemies are coming from in FPS games and RPGs and the closed cup makes it very immersive. They have a lot more mid and top range, not as much bass, so I wouldn't necessarily recommend these for listening to music, but for gaming they are very, very good.Great value, quality product. Very happy.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Perfect for R6 Siege
*by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 6 September 2026*

First time I ordered, it never came but I received a refund. Ordered it again and it came. I've used it on xbox with R6 Siege and it's absolutely fantastic and has crisp sound. Very comfortable and seems durable. They're also adjustable and fit many head shapes. The actual mic took some force to get in the first time, but after that it was great. 5/5 would recommend.
