Review: Not very engaging / interesting - Bought this item for a 3 year old, its had very limited use. It was a bit of a novelty to draw in the sand but not very engaging, and probably took longer to set up than it was actually played with. The light doesn't show well through the sand, and the pen doesn't write great. We didnt use the cards because all the letters are capitals, where the child is learning lower case letters and letter formation. But the concept of the cards showing how to write the letters is good - could be more suitable for an older child.
