Traditionally used in landline telephone applications, these IDC splice connectors can be used to splice, tap or repair damaged many types of low voltage conductors in voice and data applications. The UY2 version is slightly larger and handle thicker insulation diameters than UY. All connectors include an internal moisture resistant gel sealant for protection when installed in outdoor locations. Crimping of the connectors requires a parallel action tool to avoid uneven crimps. The IDEAL 33-719 tool is designed for use with all of our IDC connectors. To use the connectors: Insert all unstripped conductors into the ports until they pass the internal bus bar and reach the end of the connector. Place the connector assembly on the 33-719 flat pad surface and slowly squeeze until the colored cap snaps down into place over the conductors.
