Is the front part narrow? I tried some Uggs years ago and they were too long and too narrow at the same time (very bizarre fit)

Would need to know the Style you tried years ago, but they make most of their shoes in different widths, so it may be a better fit for you to try the 3E's in the UGG Ascot slipper instead of this one. Hope this helps.

Does this slipper come in extra extra wide?

There is a method for determining the size of the slipper but it is contingent on the lenght of the foot and not the width. I wear a wide shoe size and ordered a pair of the slippers and they fit perfectly but I can't promise that the same would be true for you. My advice is to order the slippers, try them on, and if they don't fit to your liking, return them.

Why does this color chestnut look so much lighter than the ones on the ugg website?

Picture might looks different. But they are the same. I suggest you google the image of this style. You can get an idea how it looks like.
