It has two sizes of threader, one for normal cotton/polyester thread and one for heavier yarn. It comes in a pen shape and the threaders are protected within the pen. You just pop them out and push the rounded end into the end of the pen. This threader is also less easy to lose than my older tiny traditional threaders - I just pop it upright in the container with my other small craft items. I have not had the threader for long so I can't say how robust it is. The smaller threader does look very fine compared to some but, so far, I have not had any problems. This item wasn't cheap but it does the job well.
