Aladdin: Musical Masterpiece

Got to love a Disney film and with the voice of the late Robin Williams makes it even more special,

This is an old film so if you're looking to buy it it's for one of 3 reasons: 1) you were born in the early 80's and remember this as a child. 2) you're a Disney freak and are trying to catch them all like Pokemon. 3) you are a Robin Williams fan. In any case buy this film, release the inner child and enjoy what is arguably one of the best Disney films ever made. Funny, clever, well directed, well voiced, with good songs and a good story (plus arguably one of the best Disney villains) it's a great Sunday afternoon film. What's even better is kids of today seem to love it as much as the kids of the early 90's when it was released. The Blu-Ray version is good they've done a great job upscaling it and the soundtrack sounds great too. A great dose of nostalgia.

Although I don't think this is one of the absolute best of Disney's catalogue, I do have a huge soft spot for this film, so snatched it up as soon as I could for the collection. The picture transfer is perfect; the colours really pop out, and it has never looked better on vhs or dvd. The audio too is crisp beyond belief - the only minor complaint I could muster is one I've noticed on a small number of blu ray releases recently - the scoring track being louder than audio levels, but this only happened a couple of times throughout the film, and only had to be dropped one or two levels (live in a flat so more aware of it is all) The extras are pretty fun, featuring the previous dvd editions and a couple of new ones to keep you occupied. Overall, this is of such high quality I can't recommend the film enough; even if you aren't getting it for the collection (thanks to the numbered sides on these releases)

Bought for a pressie. Very pleased with the result, enjoyed. Helped pass some time stuck indoors after a fall. Good quality and a great buy.

Eactly as expected, perfect

Superb.

I only own a couple of Disney DVD's (Beauty and the Beast & The Lion King being the others), but in my opinion Aladdin will stand the test of time as one of those titles i'll play to my kids and their kids. The musical score is exceptional, and even as a fully grown adult it still makes you tap your toes; worryingly I also seem to recall every word. The picture is lovely in its restored format, and the fact the animation is a little old-school and not computer generated in my opinion adds to the charm. Just the right amount of peril and great characters- a must for every house with children.

Quick delivery, great price

Was very disappointed this product would not play on my DVD player.

very disappointed shipped from germany can't be played in Canada !! wanted this so bad for my grandson so disappointed

It has been over twenty years since the last time I saw Aladdin, I saw it in the theater when it debuted when I was just a kid. The blu ray transfer looks incredible (It looks like it Aladdin was made this year, and not over twenty years ago.) It played perfectly on my american blu ray player. Plus this is a representation of when Disney made great animated films, and not the vehicles to sell merchandise like the film's they make nowadays. I think kids of all ages will love this movie, and last but certainly not least I have to mention what a great performance Robin Williams gave as Genie.
