According to Classic Hammer magazine, these are a classic hammer and with good reason, Every tinkerer professional or amateur ought to have one of these in their box of tools, if you need to 'persuade' something in/out/all about without marking it then this is the hammer for you, it's a good size (Size 2) as it's got just the right amount of weighty clout, you can buy replacement heads which is nice but they can be harder to fit than is worth the hassle, buy one, they're probably cheaper than the Sealey/Draper/Branded equivalent which ironically is probably made but Thor. I'll be buying more Thor hammers that's the truth.

This is the right weight I need for what I use it for. My only gripe is that the rawhide head started to split rather than flatten out.

Borrowed one of these off of a friend and decided that I needed one in my life. It is a great hammer for many jobs, the handle is comfortable in the hand. As a person with pain issues this hammer stops the pain shockwaves running up my arm that can happen with harder smaller headed hammers. Its a nice tool, i just hope it lasts. If it wears well I will be purchasing a smaller one as well. This hammer is a good standard size but the head might be big for finer tasks.

I researched on forums for the correct size. I was mislead to believe this #1 is large enough. I should have bought the #2. This is a very light hammer. Good quality rawhide. Suitable for light blows on machinery.
