Irwin Quick-Grip 59200CD Handi Clamp 2-inch / 50mm

Great little clamps for the hobbiest or pro - these are smaller than i expected but they are great for clamping small items together - its always worth having a few in your toolbox.

I have had the yellow clamp for years and wanted a second the same size. As you can see, the new one is significantly smaller. It also costs the same as a larger clamp does, over the counter in Wickes. I'll keep it, partly because I can't be bothered to send it back, and partly because although it's not what I wanted, it may still be useful.

The pictures for this item are deliberately misleading, showing MUCH larger clamps holding large pieces of wood together. These would be ok holding paper together but you'd be better of buying a bulldog clip. The description does give the size of the clamp, but who's going to get a ruler to see what the actual size is. If your in the market for an expensive paper clip then this seems well built and works well, and is cheaper than a lot of other places. I personally will be sending it back and asking Amazon to remove the pictures advertising this product so that other people do not fall for the obviously deliberate misleading product pictures.

I reviewed a few of these simple but effective easy to use clamps and decided to purchase the Irwin Quick-Grip Handi Clamp I’m glad I chose this clamp it’s a useful extra hand .

The picture is accurate but gives a misleading impression of the size of this clamp - check the actual dimensions. It looks as if it a 'hand sized' grip but it's not. It's more a 'fingertip sized' grip. The clamping force is equivalently modest. Holding small pieces of work together while the glue dries is what this is useful for. I wouldn't trust it to hold work while using a power tool, it's just not strong enough.

Many moons ago I bought four small clamps of the same make and style and over the years they have been super useful in my workshop albeit a tad small. So, having decided to embark on a new project I felt that I could justify some new ones but bigger and thus these nice shiny ones arrived at my gaff a few weeks ago. And... I love them. They are just what I need in my workshop as quick go-to clamps when needing moderate force. Well made and even being plastic they won't break unless you have the grip of a silverback gorilla. I love the clean design and simplicity of use. Bottom line is that I like everything about these and the price is fair for what they are.

Provides minimal pressure, barely holds anything together. If you're just looking for a temporary hold then this may help but the size of the jaw is incredibly small so is for very specific applications. It is incredibly easy to use and closes quickly, just don't expect to be holding anymore than the lightest of weights!

These things are great to have around. Quick and easy to use. Strong for their size. A no brainer at the add-on price I paid. I wish I could have purchased more, but there was a limit.

Attention, pince très petite. Les photos sur le site ne correspondent pas à la taille réelle de l'objet. Celui-ci fait en réalité 12cm de long sur 6,5cm de largeur au niveau des pinces. J'ai renvoyé les 2 pinces.
