If your system voltage is 24v, the max solar input power is 1040W. -SL **Q: Can anyone confirm if this is suitable for sealed calcium technology batteries** A: Surely a sealed lead acid and a sealed calcium battery are of similar type when it comes to charging. The reason you have different charging modes on a charge controller is so that the charger knows the peak and low charge levels. This is so that the controller doesn't run a lead acid battery below 40% or so. Lithium you can deplete 100% of the charge and you will not damage the battery. Lead acid has what we call a memory in the chemistry world. Basically the electrons cannot be be packed tightly together in the lead acid mixture. It fives off an effect that the battery wont hold as much charge anymore after being discharged 100%. Long answer but I would say this will work on a sealed calcium battery as they are the same as a lead acid battery. **Q: Can I set the mximum battery voldtage at which the charger stops receiving amps? It has been in use for 4 years, so far, in between several full size 400w solar panels and a 15kwh battery bank. I was reminded to write this review after an event yesterday left me VERY impressed. Due to my mistake, a battery lead fell out of the connector. It left around 10 amps of solar power feeding into the Renogy controller for several hours. I feared the controller might be toast but, no, it didn't even blow a fuse. Once I reconnected the battery wire, it started working again.
