The item works great and is simple to use and sturdy. When you push the sensor in to a surface and wait 2 seconds it takes a reading and then you can pull it away and it retains the reading on the screen for a few more seconds so you can read the value without having direct access to the screen while using it. In addition I found very few meters provide a calibration test like this one does. Our old meter the same model failed its calibration test after I believe 10 or more years of use and I would never have known if I had bought a meter without that feature. This is a good buy.

I have used this product on plaster, wood flooring (Plywood and MDF), brick, covered flooring (Vinyl) and grout.Arrived on the date specified, WITH batteries (4xAAA) and a zip up bag to store it in included. Instructions are simple. It doesn't make any noise to notify you if there is moisture like some do, it just displays if there is any and how much.I noticed people complained about the screen display been an issue, I haven't had any issues with the screen turning off. What I will state: When you press the moisture tester into the surface, hold it in or down firmly or you may not get an accurate reading and because of the angle it can be awkward to see the screen dependent upon how you hold it etc, but it does last for up to 5 seconds before it turns off after removing it from the area/surface you are testing.The only true issue I have had is the batteries kept bouncing out before I had a chance to screw the back on. LOL.I love this product, it's accurate, easy to use and can be used on many surfaces. I would highly recommend buying this product if you are having issues with a leak or damp in any part of your house.

Stanley, so reliable quality. The instrument is not backlit, so it can be difficult to read in dim light. Seems to work ok.

I bought this to check moisture content of a conservatory decking that I cut up because it was neglected. The Stanley meter is easy to use and gives repeatable results. The included calibration check in the top cover is a good feature. I also like the fact that it uses 4 AAA batteries which last longer and are cheaper to replace than button batteries.

I bought this to help assess damp walls during a recent house purchase - it came in extremely useful and saved me a lot of money in the long run!!Very easy to use and very easy to read. The only thing I don’t like is the plastic packing and cheap looking storage pouch.The meter comes packaged in a completely sealed plastic box that must be cut into with scissors to access. My least favourite type of packaging.Disposable batteries included but you can buy a more expensive product with USB charging features so do shop around.This is easy to operate and easy on and off. Instruction manual is quite lengthy but includes many languages so don’t be put off.

Stanley have always produced decent quality kit to use and this follows that trend. Was able to detect we had damp in a bedroom wall due to the neighbours conservatory (long story) only issue I have is you do have to dig it into your wall. So if it's wallpaper/painted you can see it if you look for it

I bought this due to living in a wonderful Victorian home that sadly has damp issues. Some are obvious but I wanted to do a thorough check to see what we were dealing with. I found damp in the roof rafters so have started getting that sorted. The screen is easy to read but be warned, the image doesn’t stay for more than a few seconds so it’s cx he k and read immediately or have someone with you whilst you check. It’s really easy to use though. Glad I’ve bought it and once damp issues are dealt with this will be good to check that things are drying out.
