These batteries don't have an exciting job, but they absolutely deserve some recognition. I'd bought my nephew a megaphone as part of the ongoing prank war between my brother and me, where we compete to give each other's children the loudest, most irritating presents imaginable. There was no way I was going to leave him waiting for batteries. The Amazon Basics D cells worked perfectly straight out of the box and powered the megaphone all day without any sign of fading. That's really all you can ask for. Good value for money, individually packaged, and it's always handy to have a supply of D batteries in the house because so many larger toys seem to need them. Most importantly, they ensured the megaphone could start annoying my brother immediately rather than after a trip to the shops. Money well spent.

great help for two lanterns i have. impossible to get replacements in town these match perfectly same brand had the others a LONG TIME.

Bought them to power mostly toys for kids, including a new hot wheels track and a baby bouncer. Those are very energy hungry and these batteries keep up very well I have to say! The hot wheels track with a spiral automatic elevator works super hard haha, full days in the weekend and still goes strong! Buying larger packs makes it very cost-effective. Considering the performance on par with other "energ...etic" and "dura..ble" brands - this are top notch on a budget! They also come up nicely packaged so it's easy to store them. 👉 Excellent Shelf-Life I bought this 12-pack battery set over 2 years ago and I’ve gone through 7 of them with 5 still left. Out of curiosity, I tested the remaining ones -- they’re all still holding a solid charge of 1.6V which is actually a tad higher than the 1.5V they’re rated for. Impressive! For the record, I didn't make any effort to store them in a special way -- they're still in their original Amazon Basics box in my home office (20 degrees Celsius each day). 👉 Usage I’ve been using them in two different devices: an outdoor overhead motion sensor light and a motion sensor garbage can. The outdoor light, where batteries usually die fast due to the cold, has been running on these D-cells for a full year, including through Winter. I would have thought they'd need replacing by now but they’re still going strong. For the garbage can, which opens frequently throughout the day, the batteries last about 8 months before needing to be swapped out. 👉 Let's Be Real about Amazon Basics vs Named Brands ... We all hesitate to buy Amazon Basics vs the pricier name brands expecting to get #$@% for less money but what can i say?! Empirical evidence doesn't lie! I've had these for 2 years and so far haven't suffered from any flaws. These batteries have actually OVER-PERFORMED for their original price -- they hold a charge brilliantly and perform under varying conditions, including in Winter, bizarrely. What is extra comforting is in the rare case you do run into any problems, Amazon's customer service has always been great, in my experience, especially for their own brand. Hopefully with my experience you’re concerns about reliability and / or longevity are reduced. Good stuff, Amazon!
