I bought this for my African Grey. He loves to tear shreds off it and chew them. For such a simple idea, it has managed to do its job which was to eliminate boredom and occupy his destructive nature. Both of which seem to be achieved.The tot it's self appears to be a strong acrylic plastic which smoothly unscrews to allow the ream of paper to be placed inside (already in place when purchased) refills are a cheap price thus making this toy a good option. The paper reams last for a long time.Other users stated a spring came loose? I throughly checked the product to ensure nothing would happen to my bird and there was no spring. So maybe the toy has been redesigned. The chain is thick and substantial.
