Need to bait with peanut butter ideally, but they're easy to set and place without setting off. Can struggle to kill a bigger rat, thankfully the ones it helped take out were not fully grown. Need a more powerful one for big rats. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great trap kills Gustavo the Nazi Rat *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 31 December 2015* I was recommended this make by a colleague (he has caught over 20 rats in the last month). Checking the reviews here helped me make up mind and I went ahead and purchased. Everything came propmptly and then it was time to lay the traps.We only had one mouse which I think the cat had bought in but as she is no killer it was left to run riot behind the TV unit. I placed one of these behind the sub woofer with a little bit of an Italian Plasmon biscuit on top as extra bait (we had found a nibbled at packge so we knew these were like by our rat kin).We had named the rat Gustavo and afer checking every couple of minutes for the first ten minutes or so to see if little Gustavo had been caught I decided it was best to leave it alone and let it happen. Within 2 hours it happened:[THE FOLLOWING IS A PRESUMPTION OF WHAT HAPPENED]Gustavo woke up late that afternoon after a hard night of scratching at the walls and nibbling at wires. He thought back to the attempts of the previous day and how a bucket, bowl of cheese and prop on a string had been set up by the overlords of domain in which he lived. How foolish they are, he thought, such a meagre trap would never catch Gustavo, National Rat Jousting overall winner 2014 and 2015. Granted some of his friends may fall prey to such a trick but Gustavo was no mere rat.No one knows exactly who Gustavo's parents were. Some say he is a halfbreed of Unicorn and Owl trapped in a Rats body. The real truth, however, is much more sinister. In the 1940s the Nazis tried to breed a super rat. A rat so terrifying it would be able to take over London within 3 weeks. Numerous mental and physical tests were conducted on rats slowly filtering out the weak until they had their rat champions, so is the lineage of Gustavo. After the war his rat grandparents escaped and, with a twist of irony, ended up on the shores of the River Thames in London. Given the hardship they had seen, they had not taste for bloodshed and cruelty and never embarked on the Nazi grand plan of destroying London. Instead they got to work, they built a home and started to make a name for themselves with the well to do around the Raterloo area. Here the family flourished, using their impressive mental ability and stunning physical attributes they grew both their wealth and their family. When Gustavo was born in the 1980s the strong gene was still in the family, all be it slightly diluted, however Gustavo had the full set. He truly was the first real Nazi rat since his grandparents.A childhood of good education, Croquet medals and string of sweethearts behind him, Gustavo ventured away from Raterloo to the humble village of Hackney. It was here that he would live his final days. He had just set up a good butchers which was attracting punters from across London and recently taken residence in a basement flat. Yet despite his cunning and guile his arrogance had started to swell and he cared little from hiding from the human overlords and their sorry excuse for a cat. And so it was that morning, Gustavo nonchalantly strolled from behind the DVD cases towards the ledge down to the carpet. He could see the sub woofer and the wires but then his little nose began to twitch. "A little piece of Plasmon, for me?" he squeaked and trotted off to this bounteous find. It was a public holiday and so his butchery was closed. This little morsel would allow him to go back home, put his feet up and watch Die Hard 2 on the telly. But, as he approached the Plasmon he decided to have a little taste, just for breakfast. As his little face approached the Plasmon he could smell its sweet goodness, his little tongue darted out and was just about to take its first taste when ...It was at this point that I heard a sound, about 2 hours after leaving the trap. I went to check behind the sub woofer and there was little Gustavo head first in the sprung trap, his lifeless body seemed grey and cold. I was expecting some blood or an exploded head but it was actually very clean and easy. I picked up the trap, emptied Gustavo in to a carrier bag and took him out to the bin. The trap has been reset just in case Gustavo had some children or hookers in there with him.
