I have mine on a TAMA cymbal arm on the outside of my kit so I can reach it from my desk but it could be placed to left of the Hi-hat for warming up silently behind the kit.Plus you can lift it off again and take it with you where ever you want to go.Def get it, you wont be disappointed. **Q: Whats the difference in the apprentice pad and the real feel? why is there such a cost difference?** A: The apprentice doesn't have such a heavy base. Love it. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It’s good *by C***E on 16 August 2026* Good ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Superb pad *by D***0 on 1 November 2012* The evans pad is a great practice pad, i had a remo pad before this and was very dissapointed by the noise of it as i wanted to practice at night when my son was asleep upstairs, but there was no chance of this. I have had the evans pad for a few months now and am very pleased with it, it is quiet and you get a good rebound off both sides, one being made of gum rubber and the other a harder plastic rubber (which is louder but fine for the day time). I use it mainly for practicing rudiments and so far i cannot fault it.
