Good value as sturdy plastic. Good size for KS2 children to handle. Helps to make abstract mathematical concepts very visual and therefore easier to understand. I use these regularly with 1:1 and/or small group interventions. Review: Very very helpful - my child loves it - They are not a beautiful learning objects such as the Montessori beads used for pretty much the same purpose, however, they will soon be outgrown so this is a much more reasonable amount of money to spend on this kind of resource. My home educated 6 year old was starting to find subtraction intimidating, until I introduced this. He hasn't stopped making up his own simple additions and subtractions and solving them on his own with the cubes/rods.
