This though in essence the same had an annoying clipping noise on certain frequencies that couldn't be tamed by any gain change. So i got he MK2. It's great the running on batteries is useful for my battery only gigs in fields and back gardens. I do wonder whether the auto gain function is messing a few things up. Occasionally I go to the mic and the level is different. I am certain its not a compressor thing, it's way too larger difference for that and if the compressor was working that hard the feedback would be enormous. As with the Mk1 the sound shape and dynamic EQ and de essing is fantastic. I do very much prefer the Line 6 Blackstar, Roland multi functional mix knobs for Reverb and Delay level. Though whilst playing sax and singing or guitar and singing the tap delay function is a little awkward. It takes four AA batteries. You can purchase a separate power supply. **Q: Does it power a condenser/ does it have phantom power (48v) when plugged into power supply?** A: Yes it does. it's not switchable, it's there all the time. If you are using a device that connects to your pc for recording perhaps, if that also has a phantom power switch, turn it off when using the pedal, it's not needed and using both can cause issues. :) **Q: I only have a jack connection on my speaker, do i need XLR connections only for this device to work?** A: Without knowing what your equipment is, I will try to answer to the best of my ability. The output is mic level and would normally go into a mixer, mixer amp, or a powered speaker. If you have a powered speaker with only 1/4 Jack inputs you must have the cable you need already. The cable you use from your mic to your speaker already will do the job of conversion. So connect your mic to the mic mechanic with an xlr to xlr mic cable and from the mic mechanic to your device via the cable you would normally connect your mic to your POWERED speaker. Please note this will not work going into a passive (non powered) speaker and will damage the mic mechanic. **Q: Can you use a wireless microphone with this pedal?** A: I use the Sennheiser XSW-D system with mine. I don’t see why you couldn’t use another XLR outputting system with it. The automatic functions are tastefully executed and absolutely perfectly dialed in. I use this every gig (admittedly given the times we live in, that’s not many just yet) and the results have been spot on. Sound engineers have barely needed to do anything and it really offers a fantastic, versatile vocal sound.
