3-D Solar System, Black

I always check reviews before I buy anything but take them with a pinch of salt, however the good reviews of this product are more than deserved. I am so pleased with this purchase. It took a while to put together but when it was finished it looked amazing. The glow in the dark planets and stars created a realistic galaxy on the ceiling of the room and I have never seen my sons so excited to go to bed.

My 3-year-old son is fascinated with the solar system and never tires of telling me all about the planets, so I decided to buy this for his bedroom in our new house. As others have said, it is a bit fiddly to assemble, tying the virtually invisible thread firstly round the planets, then to the star shaped tacks. That alone took me about an hour to do, but my son sat by me the whole time, watching my every move, and ensuring I did them in the correct order. Once they all had the thread attached, it was time to pin them to the ceiling, which (thankfully) took only a couple of minutes. I have to say, they look brilliant, and most importantly, my son is delighted. He shows every visitor his planets, and every night he says goodnight to them all. Highly recommended.

Bought this for my 6 year old son and he likes them a lot now they're finally up on his ceiling. There are 9 planets included aswell as planet labels and a sheet of glow in the dark star/asteroid stickers. You really can create a solar system on your ceiling. It's easy to tell the planets apart as they are vaguely coloured/patterned and sized relevantly. They are made of quite flimsy brittle plastic though which may crack if dropped. Was quite fiddly to attach thread ready for hanging but the pins and tack provided has kept them up without any incident. They do glow in the dark after a few minutes of light exposure beforehand, but only for a short while (not all night though!!!!). They are a great visual illustration for any child with a keen interest in planets and the solar system but don't expect a planetarium experience!

Happy with item, arrived quickly. Thank you

My 3 year old loves these planets! They were easy to put together and hang, the set comes with all you need. I've hung them from his bedroom ceiling moving outward from the light which we use to represent the sun. He can now name all the planets in the right order and tell me a little about each one. They glow softly in the pitch dark which is also nice. He liked them so much we've bought him a book about planets and he's learning more and more all the time. A must for all those little budding scientists.

I spent a whole Saturday afternoon placing the stars in the real constellations stretching from Orion to Ursa Major - ha ha ha! I used a planisphere to get true positions of the stars. My daughter loves it when I point to all the planets and tell her their names. The names of the planets are provided on little lables that also glow in the dark. OK, here's the problem: The stars and planets only glow for about 5 minutes. At the moment, this is long enough to send her off to sleep, but in the future she's going to be real dissappointed! Not bad for a bit of fun and educational too - if you're prepared to have an aching neck the next day ;-)

I bought this item for my best friend's son's room, and I am glad I did. The stars shine very bright, and the hanging planets are encouraging him to learn about the solar system. He is a very happy little boy to have stars on his ceiling, and for the price, this was a great purchase. It was delivered very quickly, and was a very welcome addition to the young boy's bedroom. I would totally recommend this item for a young mind that is keen on learning.

Really easy to assemble. Better quality than I expected considering its so reasonably priced. Looks good and glows in the dark. Buying another one as a gift for another child because I was so impressed.

Our grandson loves it and his daddy said it was easy to put up. Would recommend it.
