I bought this because I was tired of reaching for my bar of soap and getting a soggy mess. Just leaving the soap sitting on the shelf or in a soap dish the bar of soap was just continually sitting is a pool of water. I did a little research and found this item. The soap holder is simple but very affective. The ribbed nature holds the soap in place, so it does not slide off. The grooves in between the ribs are slanted so that water runs off the holder and does not pool around the bar of soap. Perfect solution. No more soggy soap. The holder cleans up easily. I have been just cleaning it by hand in hot water. I have note tried a dishwasher, so I am not sure how it would hold up.
