Being ready if we have to venture out is important. I don't use a cane to walk with all the time, but I find it adds a little confidence having one on each side while trying to balance on snow and ice. These amazing hiking prongs are great for that. They slide on easily and secure tightly. You can flip them up when not needed or pop them in downward position for the ice. The fact that they offer that adjustment is a good point for these devices. These would also help in muddy or slick conditions so have multipurpose applications. They are sturdy, effective and affordable for a little added safety. Review: Initial Review: Excellent; Im a believer - Purchased these in August to use in the winter and so far I am a believer. I installed without the rubber spacers and trimmed the length of the mounting screws. My right cane tip tends to lose grip and slide to the one o'clock position and the left cane tip tends to lose grip and slides to the eleven o'clock position, so I installed these ice grips on the outside of each cane to utilize the compressive strength of the inner portion of the "L" rather than relying on the tension of the rods as they are likely to bend out and lose grip. If I were to place them on the inside of the cane, I fear they would catch my clothing or bend out and slip when I really need them. Placed on the outside of my crutches, I do need to be mindful of my animals and wall surfaces. The ice grip holds sure even when the ice grip is packed with ice. These have been used for many hours in two days within the 2025 ice storm and so far there are no problems and they have held up nicely with no signs of wear. The ice grips are easy to flip on and off the rubber cane tip when I am going to or from slippery surfaces. I highly recommend these ice grips to the general user; however, professional ice climbers and frequent users may need something more robust. THIS IS MY OPINION ABOUT THIS ITEM AND HOW I INSTALLED THEM ON MY CRUTCHES. ALWAYS FOLLOW THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS, STAY OFF SLIPPERY SURFACES AND THE ICE AND SNOW AND USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. ## Features - REDUCES YOUR RISK OF SLIPS AND FALLS: Ideal for slippery winter conditions, the Vive cane ice tips provide additional stability on snow, ice and other wet surfaces. The ice tips also supply greater stability when walking on sand, loose gravel and soft grasses. - EASILY ATTACHES TO CANES, CRUTCHES AND WALKERS: Ice tip attachments are easily installed with included hardware on cane diameters ranging from 2” to 3.75”. Provides greater balance and stability when installed on standard and folding canes, forearm crutches, axillary crutches and walkers. - DURABLE FIVE PRONG DESIGN: Five durable carbon steel prongs bite into the ice and snow to improve balance and safety when walking on these hazardous surfaces. - FLIP UP MECHANISM FOR INDOOR USE: A simple push mechanism allows the ice tip attachment to flip up along the outside of the cane for safe indoor use and to prevent excess wear when traversing hard surfaces such as cement or pavement. A slip resistant pad prevents the attachment from sliding and scratching the cane. - HSA/FSA APPROVED & VIVE GUARANTEE: Eligible for purchase with Health Savings or Flexible Spending Account funds. Plus, enjoy the Vive 60-DAY GUARANTEE. Purchase with confidence. ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B072LGTTPQ | | Best Sellers Rank | #89,666 in Health & Household ( See Top 100 in Health & Household ) #2 in Cane Ice Attachments | | Brand | Vive | | Brand Name | Vive | | Color | Silver | | Coverage | Snow, Ice, Gravel, Sand | | Customer Reviews | 4.5 out of 5 stars 1,327 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00818323020861 | | Item Highlight | 4-Prong Hiking Attachment - Replacement Grip for Walking Sticks, Trekking Pole, Crutches, Tip Points for Winter Snow Safety | | Item Weight | 181 g | | Manufacturer | Vive Health | | Manufacturer Part Number | MOB1016 | | Material | Carbon Steel | | Material Type | Carbon Steel | | Model Number | 4332470366 | | Number of Items | 2 | | Number of Pieces | 2 | | Size | 7 Piece Set | | Sport | Walking | | Sport Type | Walking | | Style | Hiking | | Style Name | Hiking | | UPC | 818323020861 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | ## Product Details - **Brand:** Vive - **Material:** Carbon Steel - **Size:** 7 Piece Set - **Sport:** Walking - **Style:** Hiking ## Images ![Cane Tips for Ice - All Terrain Heavy Duty (2 Pack) Metal Retractable - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/61Fq8iPsTwL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: I have reg size 7/8 of a inc sounds too big or am I reading it wrong?** A: These are the most incredible peace of mind for cane users on ice, wet leaves or slippery pavement. THEY HAVE BOTH LONG AND SHORT SCREWS TO ADAPT TO DIFFERENT CANE WIDTHS, so it should fit fine. Very easy to install. YOU MUST IMMEDIATELY FLIP IT UP WHEN GOING INDOORS OR ONTO A HARD FLOOR LIKE TILE OR IT CAN BE SLIPPERY! It takes less than 20 seconds to flip it up out of the way. My 86 year old mom loves it and I bought 8 so far and put them on all her friends canes as gifts! **Q: Do you get 2?** A: Yes one for each cruch or for 2 canes **Q: do these attach to a quad cane or are the legs on the quad too short?** A: No **Q: How does it adjust so spikes are out? Up top or turn it over?** A: The spikes are facing up along the cane until the user flips them down under the tip. It’s extremely easy. I showed my mom once and she could do it with no problem. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Cane Tip Safety *by T***A on May 21, 2026* Not much is more threatening than the thought of having to walk across ice and most of us will have snow, sleet and ice at some time during our winter months.
