I just used it on a construction 2x12 as a test. (Soft wood, but keep reading). Straight out of the box with a barely charged battery, it was through in under 10 seconds, might have even been 5. To compare, my prior drill, which I’ve had NO COMPLAINTS with after using for many years, a Makita 18v, was literally smoking (motor, not auger bit) while drilling hole #3. And it struggled the whole way. I still HIGHLY recommend the Makita 18v for all wood drilling short of a 1” auger. Prior cuts with a 3/8” spade bit went just fine. When SERIOUS POWER is needed, this one is EXCELLENT. Probably overkill for many. It was overkill for me until that 1” auger. I am highly confident performance in oak will also be exceptional. Very happy I spent the money. The quality and performance are obvious, literally right out of the box. Review: Great drill - Great drill power lasted longer than expected. Performed well in cold climate ## Features - 1/2" all-metal chuck with carbide teeth for maximum durability, grip and bit retention - Mechanical Clutch for consistency in driving a wide range of fasteners - Unmatched Performance with the most runtime in class with the 5.0Ah batteries - Hammer Drill Mode for Fast Drilling into Brick, Block or Concrete - All-metal belt clip for portability ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B0BB87YHC7 | | Additional Features | Rechargeable, Long Runtime | | Amperage | 5 A | | Battery Capacity | 5 amp_hours | | Battery Type | Lithium-Ion | | Best Sellers Rank | #51,702 in Tools & Home Improvement ( See Top 100 in Tools & Home Improvement ) #34 in Power Hammer Drills | | Brand | Milwaukee | | Brand Name | Milwaukee | | Color | Red/Black | | Customer Reviews | 4.6 out of 5 stars 518 Reviews | | Drill Type | Hammer Drill | | Drilling Capacity Metal | 0.5 inches | | Drilling Capacity Wood | 2.63 inches | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00045242637737 | | Included Components | Milwaukee Electric - M18 FUEL. 1/2 HAMMER DRILL-DR | | Item Dimensions L x W x H | 7"L x 2"W x 8"H | | Item Type Name | Milwaukee Electric - M18 FUEL. 1/2 HAMMER DRILL-DRIVER KIT | | Item Weight | 8.1 pounds | | Manufacturer | Milwaukee Electric | | Manufacturer Part Number | 2904-22 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Manufacturer Warranty | | Material Type | Metal | | Maximum Chuck Size | 0.5 inches | | Maximum Power | 60 watts | | Maximum Rotational Speed | 2100 rpm | | Maximum Torque | 1400 in-lb | | Model Number | 2904-22 | | Number of Items | 1 | | Number of Speeds | 2 | | Power Source | Battery Powered, Corded Electric | | Torque | 1400 in-lb | | UPC | 045242637737 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Voltage | 12 volts | ## Product Details - **Amperage:** 5 A - **Brand:** Milwaukee - **Maximum Rotational Speed:** 2100 rpm - **Power Source:** Battery Powered, Corded Electric - **Voltage:** 12 volts ## Images ![Milwaukee Electric - Variable Speed M18 Fuel. 1/2 Hammer Drill-Driver KIT - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/51ZFkLhmvuL.jpg) ## Questions & Answers **Q: Is this a 12 volt or 18 volt drill?** A: It's an 18 volt fuel **Q: I just ordered this assuming the Milwaukee part number 2904-22 meant it was 18v, but the specs show this seller is selling a 12v under the 18v number.** A: I asked the same question and then once it arrived it was the 18 volt model **Q: The description says 12V but the pictures show 18V. Which is it?** A: The specs say 18 volts. Read to operating manual. It has the specs included. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ SERIOUS Power! *by H***H on November 21, 2025* I bought this to use for boring 1” holes into wood using an auger bit.
