I use these for shaping and displaying ear wires, a type of jewelry. The ears are stiff enough to use as a form to shape around the back, where they meet the silicone backing. The consistency of the entire ear is similar to that of an earlobe. There isn't a delineation between skin and cartilage stiffnesses because the model is made of one material in one piece, so the ears are slightly on the soft side. Overall, I'm happy with these model ears. They serve their function well.

These model ears look exactly as pictured. The silicone backing is not thick enough for the piece to stand up on its own. The ear is made of a stiff silicone and while not tacky does have some catch to it. The ear is quite sturdy and won't easily deform or tear. I use these for shaping and displaying ear wires, a type of jewelry. The ears are stiff enough to use as a form to shape around the back, where they meet the silicone backing.
