Question 1

What do you stuff in the Kong to make it last longer (for when you're away at work)?

Accepted Answer

1. pack a small amount of something really smelly in the very bottom. Cheese or peanut butter work well. 2. shove in a biscuit or piece of jerky that doesn't fit easily through the hole. The tighter the fit, the better. 3. pack in wet dog food, or kibble moistened with water. Fill all of the space around the biscuit. 4. freeze overnight. 5. pull out of freezer, smear something tasty around the opening (the frozen kibble at the opening might not be appetizing enough to get the dog started). 6. give to dog. *If even this isn't tough enough, go up a size in kongs. The bigger size will mean the dog's tongue can't reach the cheese/peanutbutter at the very bottom as easily, so he'll have to spend longer working on it.

Question 2

Would the large senior kong be okay for a German Shepherd with broken canines ?

Accepted Answer

The Large Senior KONG is a perfect size for a senior German Shepherd as the rubber is a little bit softer than that of the Classic KONG. However, if you’re looking to provide the softest rubber for your German Shepherd with broken canines, we would suggest you try giving them a Puppy Large KONG in this special scenario.

Question 3

What's the difference between a Large Senior Kong and a Large regular Kong that's the same size?

Accepted Answer

The large senior Kong is much softer. Other than color, it is identical to the large puppy color. I happen to have a 12 yr old lab and a 6 month old one and purchased one of each 4 months ago. Both Kongs are still in fine condition and have been used by both dogs. Honestly, this is the first time I have ever had a lab that liked the Kong toy. Maybe the traditional ones are just too hard for them?

Question 4

All sizes have 1 large, 1 small hole. why is large hole on large senior size smaller than large hole on medium & small senior sizes??

Accepted Answer

I have no idea. I suppose you'd need to contact Kong product development and ask them.
