Element JP Fitovers

I have a traumatic brain injury that effects how my brain processes information, visual acuity & depth perception. I wear prescription glasses for farsightedness. I preferred clip on sunglasses for size & ease but with the TBI I needed more filtration on the sides of my eyes and more light blockage above my eyes. These do both & more. I also had to start wearing sunglasses indoors; at home especially on bright days, always while shopping, and any random time the light bothers me. Movies, hotels - pretty much everywhere. Medically they have helped tremendously in functional ability and headache reduction. I have 3 pairs. The first are Glides, brushed horn, gray lenses, was fitted incorrectly at the eye Dr's and are to small for my frames. (To get the correct fit that's essential for satisfaction & ease of use see the guidelines at Fitovers.com. Also notice in the descriptions that some recommend lens shapes they are designed for.the Glides are for oval lenses.) I keep these in our truck as "spares" where they are used the least. The other 2 I ordered on Amazon. I keep the Glides, brushed horn, amber lenses, in my car and the Element pair, Sapphire, gray lenses, as my general inside/outdoor go everywhere pair. Its awkward wearing sunglasses indoors so I want to feel as confident as possible - I love the stylish blue and fashionable lines of the Element pair which is almost as important as the many functional features. Its also why I got the brushed horn pattern. Fitovers does it all! the following descriptions are from the Fitovers website - EACH PAIR INCLUDES: (all quality products) Velcro carrying case with sport clip Detachable neck cord Micro-fibre cleaning cloth LENS COATINGS: all have 100% UVA & UVB Protection Splotch Guard(tm) prevents fingerprints and smudges from adhering. Duo Hard Coat(tm) Provides multiple impact and scratch resistant treatments. Flash-Reflect(tm) A subtle flash mirror treatment that reflects bright light away when in intense light conditions and gives the lenses a glass-like appearance and hides your prescription eyewear. BlueLight Filter(tm) All PDX(tm) Lenses filter out varying degrees of blue light. LENS COLOR PURPOSES: PDX(tm) Amber lenses have a medium to dark brown/yellow tint that is ideal for bright sunny days and overcast conditions. (Amber provides contrast & improves visual acuity & depth perception. For low to medium light conditions its excellent.) PDX(tm) Roadster lenses have a medium copper and rose tint that has been proven to be the ultimate driving lens. PDX(tm) Yellow lenses have a medium yellow tint that provides a high contrast in low light conditions. It is ideal for 90% of all eye disorders. PDX(tm) Blue Mirror lenses have a medium to dark gray tint combined with a blue mirror for high glare and bright conditions. PDX(tm) Gray lenses have a medium to dark tint that allow colors to be seen in their most natural state (great for sensitive eyes, extra bright settings and general use.) I have used my amber pair for night driving, watching fireworks, rides at Walt Disney World, at the movies and on cloudy days I prefer these over gray. At times I have worn both pairs around my neck &/or on top of my head for ease (WDW, some stores, those cloudy/sunny days that can't make up their mind). I don't use the cases except to store them in the cars since they add more bulk to the already bulky glasses but the few times I use them the clips are great for belt loops. After a while you get used to the size and the best way to tote them around. My pairs are all at least 2 years old, I don't take great care of them but I have no scratches. They clean easily the same way you clean your prescription glasses. The provided cloth, water, soft cloths, recommended eyeglass cleaners.

I could not be happier. I've been needing something like this for quite a while but didn't even know they existed until recently. I had seen the classic gigantic square "old fogey" fitover glasses but shuddered at the thought of actually wearing them. These look really good, pretty much like regular sunglasses. They fit over my glasses really well, are very lightweight and the lenses are excellent at blocking/filtering the sun. They come with a nice case, cleaning cloth, and lanyard (I don't use the lanyard since it fastens at the very tip of the arm and feels weird against my head so I got some regular lanyards that I can attach nearer the temple in the open area so nothing touches my head). There are cheaper versions of these but I am very happy with these and would buy another pair immediately if I lost these. I will probably buy a pair just to have as backup. I bought the blue mirror lenses and they look cool and work GREAT. 100% satisfied and highly recommended. I can drive with my regular glasses yet still get all the sun protection I need without looking like a broken down old fogey - yay!

I've purchased several pairs of these Fitovers. I keep a pair in the car, another with my backpack, another by the front door, and another to use as protective goggles when I weed whack. I may even have another one or two pairs held in reserve, quite unnecessary as they are incredibly durable and hold up for years. They fit over my glasses perfectly and stay in place. I especially like the fact that they block sunlight from the side. They might not fit over trendier, larger styles of eyewear but for my older, smaller-style glasses, they work flawlessly. If I recall correctly, when I bought my first pair, I went to the Fitovers website and printed off their guide to determine the best size and shape of Fitovers for my glasses.

When looking for over the glasses sunglasses in brick and mortar or online, I wasn't finding anything that stood out in quality or style. On Amazon, the vast majority were $9 to &26. Of course you can't really tell the quality of many things until you touch them... So, I decided to look for ones that were a little more expensive. I think I found a good one. It is worth going to the company's website. It has very precise and detailed measuring guide.. The company ONLY MAKES OVER THE GLASSES SUNGLASSES! Amazon prices are the same, but more choices of size and style is on the website.. A page with photograph, showing all of the glasses grouped by size (small, med, large, very large, etc.) makes it very easy to see the glasses available in your size. The contents of the lens material (polarized, etc.) is clearly explained for all choices. I was very pleased to see that replacement lenses are available to order! The packaging was very professional and sleek. Includes a soft case and an optional neck cord. I would much rather wear and purchase these nice looking glasses at a little higher price, than to continue to buy, year after year, rather ugly best I can find, ones.

These fit overs are great! They are stylish and work wonderfully. The only things i noticed were that the frames feel a bit flimsy but they are kinda thin plastic. It is a bit strange feeling two sets of frames on my nose and they slide down my nose a bit w/o the cord they come with that can hold them in place and/or keep them around your neck. I find it very interesting that cord locks into place perfectly on the little holes at the tips of the ear pieces. The carry case is very thin and flimsy but the fact that you can attach it to your belt loop or even your tote if you have grommets or thin enough straps kinda neat. Over all, the glasses work as advertised and i think they look great! Will likely buy another pair!

Great , ❤️ them........

There is nothing wrong with these, and I have an older pair that are perfect for driving. I wish the diagrams and measurements for figuring out a good fit were more detailed for an easier comparison to a person's prescription glasses. The shape of my glasses did not work with these at all, even though they were within the dimensions shown on the size guide.

Being one of the millions who is nearsighted, glasses have been a part of my life since the third grade. The thought of putting a contact lens in my eye makes me want to faint, so I've always resorted to some kind of sunglasses, mostly clip-ons that tended to be heavy and which provided no side protection at all. About ten years ago I discovered Fit-Overs. I think they are great for us who wear glasses. They come in different styles and sizes so you can probably find a pair that doesn't look clunky on your face. They are featherweight so they don't drag your regular glasses down, and their "Roadster" lens color is perfect for driving. They wrap around and provide excellent side protection. It's a relatively cheap and effective solution to the sunglasses with glasses problem. Those of you who can afford a pair of prescription sunglasses need not apply, but if you're like me and want to pay for only one pair of prescription glasses, these may be the thing for you.
