Review: Just what I needed, but NOT for Scuba!!! - This worked out perfect. I needed some lead bits to refill the base of a desktop scotch tape dispenser, it needed to be heavier because the sand inside it just wasn't cutting it. I was worried as to the the size/shape of the lead bits that came in these bags, but they are just perfect: fairly small, but not too small, like random bits of molten lead that were dropped and then cooled. This make for a perfect size/shape of lead bit that "flows" well and can be reshaped and moved around as need. The nylon mesh bag that they came in was also perfect, very soft but tough, and sewn shut very well, alas for my needs it ended up cut open and thrown away.

I was worried about the stability of some of the artistic vases we have getting knocked over by the cat or robot vacuum and a curator told me to go to the gun store and pick up some lead shot to put in an old sock and put in the base. Fast forward a week and I need to adjust the weight of my rig because I’ve lost some buoyancy and I ran across these bags. Two problems, same solution. Worked perfectly with the first one so I’ll be buying a few more. Weird that lead in a bag cost less than buying the same amount of lead in bulk at the gone store, but that’s something to look closer at if I ever go back to black powder.
