I don’t know where the jar is made, however if your are worried about it’s food safety it’s made from borosilicate glass and it’s lead free.

Will this hold a 5lb bag of flour?

No, it is much smaller. It might hold 1.5lbs… I use it to store peanut butter (family loves PB) on my counter. It is very pretty and I get a lot of compliments. Buy it! You will find somewhere to put it. ;)

Does the lid come off easily? Meaning can you open with one hand?

Yes. The lid comes off easily with one hand.
