Necktite Magic does have an "updated" product whereby the strip in made with a non-tear material that is very durable and does not split in the middle.  We have been featuring this product for some time now and have had wonderful results. To use is simple - takes only seconds to apply. We include an pictorial instructional card with your purchase and feature an application video on our website.  There are 12 applications per package. How wide is the tape - top to bottom?  My hair is not overly long, and I want to be sure my hair will cover it.

Hello Jan,The tape is 3/4" wide at the center....it is 5" long (which is able to trim if necessary for those who have a small neck) and 1-1/2" wide at each end.
