Building on the refined musicianship found on Collide and taking it to even more jaw-dropping extremes! Review: Great seller - I love this cd Review: A Feast of the Senses - I'm actually new to Skillet, and I think that previously they showed promise with some excellent songs, and some almost there songs. Well, Skillet is really cooking now! They got the mixture of ingredients and spice just right. This album is hot! The beat is awesome, lyrics meaningful, and the tunes and rhythms change enough to keep you constantly fed, if not delighted. The appetite gets thoroughly whetted with "Rebirthing", a mix of ethereal with rock in the most delicious flavor. It's true that for a couple of songs it slows after that, but not in a way that offends. Think of it as salad and bread. It grabs you again with "Better Than Drugs" - many peoples' favorite. Personally, I find it slightly grating and cliche', and am most likely, out of all the songs, to skip it after a sip or two. But then again, I'm not an ale drinker. "Comatose", the main course, is the king of taste, the barbecue smoked salmon of song. Okay, so you've tasted two A+ songs and some nice B ones. Call it good, a choice buy of an album. No! They aren't done cooking yet. A couple of veggie courses, and then the potatoes, "Falling into The Black", a rock beat spiced with a touch of rap- ANOTHER A+ song. It's the kind where you ask the waiter what that spectacular flavoring was. Okay, now we're done right? That had to have been desert. So you expect a couple bites of fruit or a napkin to finish with. No! Just one fruit bite, and then they bring out a flaming desert that turns heads with the rocking, slightly creepy melodies of "Whispers in the Dark". Then sit back, relax and end this feast of the aural cavities with a Wow-Thanks-Prayer; "Looking For Angels", As a chow-hound who has purchased numerous albums for one song - only to find myself constantly gagging and spitting from the others on the album, I'm liking this one. Now I'm really hungry! I think I'll go pull out the Skillet and indulge!

A Feast of the Senses

My favorite CD
This CD is so amazing, it rocks so hard. I bought it after I bought tickets to a Flyleaf concert that Skillet was playing at. After I started listening to it, I couldn't get it out of my CD player. By the time concert day came, I was looking forward to seeing Skillet just as much if not more than Flyleaf! And they did not disappoint, let me tell you. If you have a chance to see them live, DO IT. My favorite rawking tracks are: 1. Rebirthing (about being "born again" as a Christian) 4. Better Than Drugs 5. Comatose - You cannot sit still while listening to this! You will also find yourself playing air violin, I guarantee it. 8. Falling Into Black (about slipping into depression, I think. That's what it seems like to me, but it's metaphorical. my 5-year-old says she gets this song stuck in her head...she says, "I keep hearing 'Can you hear me?'" She and my 3-yr-old love to sing the "Black!..black!..black!..black!" part!) 10. Whispers In the Dark (My favorite song on the CD! You can hear the whole song on their myspace page which is skilletmusic. I think this is about God "whispering" to you [through your conscience] when you're doing things that you know are wrong.) My favorite slower rock songs are: 2. The Last Night 3. Yours To Hold (reminds you that God will always be there for you!) Safe to listen to in the car with your kids or anyone. Perfect for rock fans who don't want to hear cussing in their music, and/or Christians. You won't regret it!

Not exactly what I expected
Very good album but I bought it because I thought Skillet was supposed to be a Christian band. Most of the songs sound like breakup songs to me. It is not the Christian uplifting music I was expecting but they are a very good band.

Rock For Christ!!
Let me start off by saying this album is absolutley amazing!!!! There are no fillers here. Every single song could be released as a single! I highly recommend this album to all lovers of Christian rock. This album defintley ties with there 2004 album "Collide" for there best album yet. Skillet is really the best christian rock band out there hands down! From the very moment you hear the first track and single "Rebirthing," you'll be left absolutley speechless and amazed at how wonderful and breathtaking it is. It will suddenly make a christian remember the first time they accepted Jesus Christ into there life as Lord and Savior, and became a new creation and are now living for love just as he did. So please do yourself a favor and buy this now! You won't be disappointed by any means!! Skillet continues to deliver great awesome Christian rock tunes with each album and this album continues that. BUY NOW!!!!!!!!!!!
