It works!
I was skeptical about this based on the reviews, but I turned out to be pleasantly surprised. I tried it with just one section (not the extension) and easily picked up half a dozen small critters. It is not powerful, but the plastic nozzle that narrows at the end helps with that. I am not sure how well it will work on large bugs, but I wanted something to help with these little half inch long flying bugs especially when they are high up on a wall and this does the trick! I'm also not sure how well it would work for kids temporarily catching and releasing bugs because they might be harmed (the bugs, not the kids!), but it's probably fine for sturdier bugs if they turn the switch off immediately when it's in the tube. I wouldn't try it on something with delicate legs or wings. But I only need to use it to rid my house of pesky flying things and for that it works like a charm!

No suction
The suction on the vacuum is terrible. Barely sucks anything up the way I expected it to. Also overpriced for a cheap insect vac.

Dont laugh.
I did laugh when I opened package. Its really cheaply made. Put battery in and turned on. Didnt seem like much suction. All i know was I wrong. Its sucks up flys big time, and its easy to empty. Cheap but it works!!

Easily get rid of bugs
This item works as described, though lacking some on vacuum power. It will suck up the bug if you are right on it and have a few seconds to wait. We used it to get rid of moths and other flying insects after they landed. If the manufacturer could get better vacuum out of it, or let Tim the Tool Man have a crack at it, it would be a great product. It's OK but could be better.

Works, but battery cover does not fit properly
The good- Glad to have a working sucker upper again. It works and seems to have good suction. The turbo extension seems like it would be great for flying bugs. The bad- My old one came with a slanted brush, great for catching nasty spiders. This one has no brush. Wish it did. The ugly- After placing the battery in the base, the battery cover does not fit fully. There is a crazy cross post in the cover that doesn't allow room for the space of the battery. Seriously? Why do we need that post? Sadly my old one is a different size so it won't work either. I've since taped the cover on. Finally, the box has pictures of spiders ALL OVER IT. It freaks me out, and if I would have opened it in the dark, I'd have thrown it across the room, thereby having 2 broken bug sucker uppers.

Works but not heavy duty
With the summer, and the dogs in and out of the house all day, there's always bugs inside, hoards of gnats fit through the window screens. This bug vac is much easier and less messy than the flyswatter. Not sure how long the battery will last, but I did buy Energizer Max 9v. I use the turbo tip when there's a bunch of bugs I need to catch. The tube cap doesn't fit the turbo tip, but I cover it with my thumb moving from bug to bug. It would have been useful to have a cap to fit the turbo tip. Also a tether between the tube and the cap so I don't drop it or lose it. The black battery cap kept falling off. It just slides into place, so I had to tape it closed. The battery cap should lock into place. To empty it without bugs flying out, I stuck the tip down into a baggie, and tapped the sides until the bugs fell out. Decent, if a bit pricey, especially with the cost of batteries, but worth the ease of use and efficiency. If it lasts. Haven't tried it on larger flies. Hope the suction will be up to the challenge. August 17 update. Killed the motor. It's meant for occasional bugs. Not for summer swarms. Regular flies don't get sucked in.

Long reach to get those small insects
So far I've caught numerous insects, especially spiders. I like the product but I feel the suction could have been greater to get those larger insects.

Does not work! Spiders have to walk in on their own
I'm mad at myself for buying this item. I read all the negative reviews and still purchased only due to the fact this item was in fact made to suction up insects and keep them alive to place outdoors and that is the exact purpose of me buying this. I bought the battery required 9 volt and decent brand of Energizer. When I first turned it on I was like okay maybe this will work; so I have my first encounter with a spider and grab my new vacuum- sort of excited and scared with the little sticky spider feet holding on for dear life I was holding the vacuum over the spider for approximately 10 minutes when it finally gave up and walked in. So unfortunately not enough suction for this operation; so don't waste your dollars. I gave it another go as well but no luck.

Tres satusfait de mon achat. Batteries 9V Panasonic recommendee
