Disco Sweat is pure Richard Simmons: "get-up-and-dance" oldies and a bevy of exercisers of all shapes, sizes, and clothing styles, shaking their booties with abandon and joy. This time they're boogying at the "Brooklyn Disco" under flashing lights. The music is all 1970s disco, with songs like "Mighty Real," "Boogie Fever," "Born to Be Alive," "Last Dance," "I Love the Nightlife," and "I Will Survive," accompanied by special effects such as a silver ball overhead or bubbles from a "car wash." Richard's choreography, as always, is easy and accessible to beginners: light, low-impact moves, repeated often. A few songs are especially fast for higher-intensity intervals, but the moves are still low-impact and uncomplicated. An occasional "disco point" of the fingers or "Travolta arms" add effect. After you dance your buns off, Richard takes you to the floor for ab work and stretching. This is a long workout, and if you're just starting, you may not have the stamina to do the whole tape. Just do what you can on this 70-minute video, taking frequent breaks, and each week you'll be able to do more. --Joan Price Vintage VHS videotape Review: Richard Simmons Provides Low Impact Exercise Fun - I love this exercise tape because of the great hit songs and go at your own pace movement. All muscles of the body receive a lively workout. Richard Simmons takes you step by step through each exercise. There are rest periods, and you can decide to dance in 5, 10, 15, or more minute intervals. I recommend this VHS to everyone who wants to stay fit, tone the body, and lose weight while grooving to the music. Review: Makes you move - He is odd but he gets you up and going!

THANK YOU RICHARD!
I just recieved Disco Sweat today and tried it for the first time and it was wonderful. Richard is so inspirational. Tears came to my eyes as I worked out with Richard and his friends because he really makes you feel like you can do it. I weigh 243lbs and have lived a seditary lifestyle since I became pregnant 3 1/2 years ago. I began to hate how I looked and felt with all of the extra weight I gained, but Richard has given me the inspiration I need to get moving and keep going. I strongly reccommend this tape for anyone who needs that extra push. You won't regret it. :-)

This is a fun workout. I don't think anyone really does Richard ...
This is a fun workout. I don't think anyone really does Richard Simmons' workouts to actually get a good workout, because unless you're severely out of shape, that's not what you'll get, but I love a break from intense workouts and just doing something fun, and Richard Simmons is always entertaining. And, even after all these years, it's still motivating.

Great fun!
Exercising with Richard Simmons to Disco music is great fun and a wonderful way to lose weight! There is even a disc jockey dressed in 70's clothes and a silver disco ball. The music makes you want to move and groove to the beat. Boogie the day away!
