Its front pocket is large enough for silverware or small items, but is not water tight in any way. The interior grey lining is not water tight either, as it has seams instead of continuous material in a bathtub design. The entire bag is insulated. This particular Coleman bag is narrow enough to fit on the back of my bike. The length abuts the seat, but does not hang over the back so much that it reduces the effectiveness of my tail light in any way. I used two bungee cords to tightly secure it to the rack, but a sideways dismount threw off the balance and the bag fell to the ground. It is worth mentioning that the glass bottles I had inside were undamaged (used the rigid white liner). Am buying a cargo net bungee today. ;) The interior of both the liner and the bag itself are easy to clean. The lid pocket is a thoughtful touch.
